Valentine's Day Date Ideas to Put a Smile on Their Face
Ah, Valentine’s Day. A day many of us romantic daydreamers look forward to, and many of us also dread. It’s an easy one to overthink. How do we celebrate it? Or more importantly, how do we make it special?
Perhaps you’re in need of some fun and unique ideas to put a smile on your partner’s face this February 14th.
You’ll find the best activities are simple, and even a little unconventional.
Cook for your partner
Cooking is one of the most romantic gestures of all, and sure to impress. Find a great recipe to cook for your loved one - and test it out beforehand to make sure you’re happy with the result. You can set up candles, string lights, and/or play each other’s favourite music to make it extra special.
Recreate your first date together
Bringing back the special beginnings of when you first started getting to know one another can light a huge spark when done right, and is well worth it. Return to the same restaurant, café or street where you met, first kissed or had your first date together, and relive it!
Tip: Throw in a small gift to make it extra romantic.
Go on a weekend getaway
A small vacation away from your day-to-day routines can give the two of you the chance to breathe and have fun. Make it a tranquil experience by heading into nature. Get a cozy hotel with room service, or stay in a cabin in the mountains. Regardless of where you both choose, escaping together will be romantic.
Attend a live show
Do you both love rock music? Or perhaps you both enjoy dance, artwork, or seeing plays? On Valentine’s Day, there is always an abundance of events happening. Treat your significant other to a festival, play, or concert that you know they will love.
Get active together
If your loved one enjoys outdoor adventures, consider a hike in nature, horseback riding, paintballing, rock climbing, bungee jumping - maybe even skydiving! Less conventional perhaps, but an exhilarating, adrenaline-driving experience is also very romantic.
Hop on a wine or brewery tour
If your partner is a beer or wine lover, take a tour while tasting some of the finest drinks in your local area. Learning together is charming, romantic, and exciting. Take it up a notch by bringing a bottle home afterward to have with some chocolate!
Valentine’s Day can be whatever you’d like it to be, whether it’s a peaceful evening watching your favourite TV series or having a night on the town. What matters is the quality time you spend with your special someone.
